Sticks & stones may break my bones, but chains and whips excite me
Madison Rayne had packed her bags and began her journey to finally reveal herself to the man of her dreams. She had let him get away from her once, this time she wasnt going to take no for an answer. She wasnt going to be satisfied until he was all hers, and hers alone. She had done the digging of the dirt, enrolled at Alpine University, and even found the dorm next to his was open. That was until now.
Carrying her bags up to her new room, Madison began to settle in and make things a little more 'homey'. Pulling out her old picture of Marcus and her from the years past, she kissed his face on the picture before placing it in the center of her locked trunk stuff into her closet. Madison blew out the candles that surrounded the picture before making sure that all the memerobilia was perfect before closing the door and locking it up. Opening up her dorm room door, Madison laid out on her bed and began writing in her journal.

'' take your past and burn it up and let '' it go , c a r r y on i'm s t r o n g e r than you'll ever know Marcus was so over studying this damn musical classic. It was easy to get into and he had to present it the very next day. He had got down the melody, it was pretty simple once you got the rythmn. He sat for a moment longer trying to get the solo part and finally nailed it. His hands working over the keys of the piano and he let out a smile and closed his eyes. He loved classical music since Blake had taught him how to play before he left. Now he was getting better each day, of course nothing could compare to him but still. He had a pretty easy major and minor making his life just a little more simple. His music minor was coming along so much better than his art major though. He let the music flow through him as he played, allowing the notes to control what he felt. His fingers running across the keys.
As the song came to end he let out a huge breath. He decided to go through it one more time just to ensure he had it all right. He started playing with the original in his ear piece just to follow the notes, even though they were written right in front of him. Closing his eyes once again the same was coming to c lose. He flooded his mind with the image of Blake and smiled some. She really was one hell on an inspiration and she had of course inspired his last piece presented to the class. The song finished but he kept on playing the piece he had once performed. It turned softer and almost had a lullaby feel to it. The smile that crossed his lips just couldn't be denied, he knew he had fallen for this girl from the first day and now he was never letting her go. He finally found some sort of redemption for what he had done to his family.
He smiled as the song came to an end and he looked around. Someone was looking through the window but he ignored them. Instead he grabbed his bag and putting his papers in them he left the room without a backwards glance. Blake would be class when he got back to the dorm which gave him time to have a shower and prepare to finally ask her on a date. They hadn't really gone out yet and he would love to take her to the movies and she could even choose the movie, be is disney or not. He made his way up the stairs and saw a flash of his new neigbour. He froze at the end of the hallway. No way. It couldn't be Madison could it? She turned slightly and he saw her face. All his blood froze. How on earth did she find him here of all places. Especially as he told her he would never go home let alone telling her where home was.
He stood there rooted to the spot. This couldn't be happening. Just when his life was starting to get back on track. No way. He started forward and reached his own dorm room. he unlocked it and moved off to sit on the bed. His head was still reeling. Madison knew alot about his past because when they had met he had totally thought she was the one. Of course then found out what she was really like and ran like hell as fast as he could. She had followed him from town to twon, state to state even back then. Why should now be any different. He had to know for sure if it was her. He walked out and knocked on the door next to his. His heart was pumping like crazy, this would be turning out to be the worst day ever after all the good he had done.

Sticks & stones may break my bones, but chains and whips excite me
Dear Diary, Ive only been in town and on campus for a few days and I absolutely love it. Everything feels so right, like this is where I'm suppose to be. I have this feeling that something really good is bound to happen, I just hope its sooner rather than later. Madison had been thinking a lot about what she wanted to write in diary. She knew some of the thoughts that she wanted to write down, but if those fell into the wrong hand then things could get messy. She didnt want to write down anything about the things she had been studying or her true feelings for Marcus, at least not yet. She wanted to try and remain like nothing was happening, sort of like it was a chance meeting, even though she had planned it all along. Looking up from her journal, she closed the cover as she looked at the door and saw Marcus standing in the doorway. Remaining calm, Madison kept a straight face and began to play dumb. Squinting to get a better look, she stood up and slowly began to make her way toward the door. "Marcus?...Is that really you?" She let a small smile come across her face as she stood directly in front of him. It was taking every ounce of energy to not pounce on him. |

'' take your past and burn it up and let '' it go , c a r r y on i'm s t r o n g e r than you'll ever know Marcus could feel his palms beginning to sweat as he stood there waiting for the door to open. His whole world was about to come crashing down around him if this was really happening. He shut his own door realising that he had left it open and he sure as hell didn't want Madison to see that he was rooming with another girl, anything that set her off just wouldn't be all that great. He clenched and unclenched his hands into fists, everything was about to go horribly wrong and he just couldn't shake this feelings of karma. Of course it was. What right did he have to get a girl such as Blake without there being some kind of reprocussions. Your past always comes back to haunt you no matter what, well that was what definitely was happening to him right now.
He watched as the door opened and the red head opened the door. He almost fainted, seriously. Black dots came before his eyes. He could see everything that had attracted her to him in the first place. He flashed back to when they met. It hadn't been a big deal, he had been working and she was a customer. Her car had broken down and he was the mechanic to fix it. Of course he thought damn this girl was fine! It hadn't taken him long to realise she thought the same, only now it was different. He knew her for who she really was and what she was capable of. It prooved that Madison would stop at nothing and well here she was making his life living hell. She acted surprised to see him and asked if it was really him. The cheek. He couldn't believe that she really was going to play all this up.
At first he stood there dumbfounded but soon regained himself. "Madison, what are you doing here?!"
He asked her carefully. He was standing in the hallway and shook his head running a hand through his long hair and pushing it back. Seriously why now?! Looking her over again he knew that she had planned all this, organised it somehow. "How did you know where I was. You should know that when I said I didn't want to see you again I meant it!" He exclaimed. That memory plaguing his mind. They had been angry, especially when she had started following him from town to town. He had meant it and thought it had sunk in as he hadn't seen her in a long time. it had to have been at least three months since they had seen each other last. Not that it mattered in her eyes. "Madison what are you doing here?...How did you know where I was. You should know that when I said I didn't want to see you again meant it!" Madison knew that Marcus knew her too well for it to a be a coincidental meeting, but she had to prove it somehow. She needed him to think that she was just a regular girl, with no alterative motives. But how?
"Marcus, I cant believe that you would think I would do this on purpose. I never planned this to happen. I havent seen you, heard from you, or tried to contact you in over three months, I've been doing some soul searching and now I am on the quest to achieve my goals. Im strictly here for the dance program, but I must admit its nice to see you again. Maybe we can get a cup of coffee sometime and catch up, just as friends of course. What do you say?" Madison smiled sweetly and innocently at Marcus, flashing her blue eyes in his direction.
Stepping off to the side, Madison moved a few steps closer in her room over toward the couch. She was inviting him, but she figured he was going to be really hesitant or too oblivious, maybe still in shock from seeing her. She had to think of someway to prove to him to that she wasn't crazy, or at least make him think she wasn't.

'' take your past and burn it up and let '' it go , c a r r y on i'm s t r o n g e r than you'll ever know Marcus had known this girl for little more than two years and only one of them had they been together. Sure they had been together for quite some time but it had taken that long for him to realise what she was really like. No matter how much people warned him about Madison, he just hadn't listened. If anything he found the stalkerish trait about her cute, well of course for awhile. Then it just became overwhelming as she was everywhere he went. She was still hot, nothing could change that, who would want to?! The problem being that she used it to her advantage to get a grasp on people like him. He had been totally unprepared but everything was different now, he was finally moving on with his life and her showing up here, well let's just say that he was not about to let her wreck everything that he had worked so hard for. Getting into college had been hard enough.
Marcus nearly full on laughed at her. Was she for real? Soul searching? Here to acheive her goals. What ever! He wasn't stupid enough to fall for her little tricks anymore. No way would he ever either, he had other people to think about now. He shook his head in disblief and actually chuckled towards her. She was seriously going to play this angle. Inviting him out for coffee, he would accept in another world maybe but not this one, not again. "Yeah and pigs might fly first. Seriously, you expect me to fall for that? The only soul searching you ever did was when you were following me around like a lost puppt. Madison, really what are you doing here?"
He asked her out right. He wasn't one to be fooled so easily. He had gone through life the hard way and knew when someone was trying to play him, no matter how good they did it. She walked back into her dorm and left the door open. Obviously trying to invite him in. She must have known he would be hesitant. Of course he would, it could be a complete trap for all he knew. Did she even know about Blake? it was better if she didn't of course, how could he break the news that he was dating someone else to a phyco path. He saw a wisp of blonde hair coming down the corridor and panicked thinking it might be Blake. He walked into the dorm and shut the door behind him as was the polite thing to do but stayed standing there. "How did you get into this college anyway? You know how hard I tried to get in to any college at my age, especially as a sophomore?" He asked her curiously. He knew better than to relax. He crossed his arms and looked at her carefully. Sticks & stones may break my bones, but chains and whips excite me
Walking into her room, she turned her back to Marcus as he spoke to her. She could hear the disbelief and everything in his tone, she knew this was going to take a lot of work, but it would all be worth it in the end. Letting out a small smile, she kneeled on the couch, resting her arms on the back, and looked at Marcus. “I got in the same way you did, I applied, worked hard, and was accepted. See…there are my books and schedule. Believe it or not Marcus but I’m going to school here, and I’m doing it for myself, not you.” Madison pointed over to her bed where her backpack and schedule was laying.
Madison wasn’t fully lying to Marcus, sure she chose Alpine University because she knew he was there, but she did also want to study and get an education. As for getting into the University that was a bit harder, luckily she was able to convince admission that she belonged there, same way she convinced housing that she needed to be in the room she was in. She didn’t think anyone else needed to know that information though, so she kept it to herself and in her secret diary. She hoped that one day when she was famous or dead that people would want to read about her fabulous life so she kept a secret diary that could be discovered with all her darkest secrets, including her plans to get Marcus back. She just hoped that it wouldn’t come back to bite her in the ass.
“So what do you say Marcus, I’m not going anywhere, I’m here for an education. Can we at least try to just be friends?”

'' take your past and burn it up and let '' it go , c a r r y on i'm s t r o n g e r than you'll ever know Marcus watched as Madison seemed completely at ease with everything. She was being subtle and to the point so at least that was something. He should have known better than to go into her room but he couldn't help but think he saw Blake coming around the corner and there was no way the two of them could meet. If anything they were from different worlds and he hated the thought of the two of them actually becoming friends. When he thought about it though he realized that Blake would never even talk to Madison unless she was spoken to and even then she would probably just retreat politely and make up some mumbled excuse. He knew his Blake, knew what she was like. It was different when she was with him of course. He tried to take his mind off the person he was rooming with and instead on what was happening in front of him.
He could see her trying to work something out in her mind when she sat down on the sofa, folding her own legs underneath her. She was probably trying to work out how to convince him without giving too much away. He didn't need convincing he knew the truth anyways. He couldn't keep his eyes from her though, she really did look good. He did his best to keep his cool facade he wore so well all the time. He walked over to where her books and schedule was and saw that she did in fact have the same class and as he and Blake. Music. Of course she would manage to get into the music because she knew he loved the play. He let out a deep breath. "Ok, you got in the same way I did. Why this school though, Why not stay in whatever town you were in when we broke up?"
He asked carefully. Running a hand through his hair to show how uncomfortable he was with this whole situation. Of course there was nothing he could do about it now but it didn't mean that he was happy about it either. Her next comment took him by surprise though. She wasn't here to get him back then. Friends only? He sighed and knowing if he accepted then he would be falling back into her trap but if he denied he would look like a complete arsehole. Instead he chose something else. "Just so you know Madison, I'm seeing someone now. I'll be your friend or maybe your aquaintance but nothing more" He exclaimed. He needed to point it out that he was off the market now. Whether she listened or not would actually be a different story, no doubt plot ways to take him away from Blake. Sticks & stones may break my bones, but chains and whips excite me
Madison had done her best to try and not think of the day that they broke up. It had crushed her world to pieces and when he mentioned staying in the town, she could feel the tears start to well up in her eyes. She had spent many nights crying and plotting, that she didn't want to stay in that town, and that was the truth. Rubbing her hand over her face, she quickly did her best to shake everything off that was bothering her, and change the subject.
When Marcus said that he was seeing someone else, she could feel her stomach start to do flips inside. How could he move on and see someone else? She couldn't understand how he could just move on like that, but she knew she had to be supportive, or just choose to not accept the fact, its not like he was married, so still technically available. "Good. Like I said, thats all i'm asking for."
This was going to be a lot more difficult for Madison to plan than she had originally figured, but she knew things would work out in the end, somehow.

'' take your past and burn it up and let '' it go , c a r r y on i'm s t r o n g e r than you'll ever know Marcus never missed anything. He could tell what was happening with someone. It was a skill he had for himself, he had to learn who he could and couldn't trust and when it was about time to move on. He knew his family had been looking for him when he had been on the run and even then Madison had followed him from town to town. It seemed at the time a blessing, well for awhile anyways. But truthfully it had been two months since they had seen each other last and that was a long time now. Well to him it was anyways especially seeing as he was back where he knew he belonged. Obviously he would have to make the time to explain all of this to Blake. He hoped she would take it the right way and not think that he was going to leave her for this crfazy sociopath who only deserved to be in a mental assylum. He refocused his attention onto the girl sitting in front of him.
He noticed that she hadn't commented on anything that he had mentioned. Did she really think that he had been sitting around all this time waiting for her to show her face again? Well I guess she had been sorely mistaken. Truthfully the two of them had had some good times as well. He would never forget the faire that he had taken her to. It had been a long time ago though. They had been together for nearly a year, he understood her attatchment to him. He smiled slightly. "Do you remember that fair we went to? The one where you literally crapped yourself at that clown? Then you pushed me into that stall of the fairy floss and because I couldn't really afford to buy you anything I stole the fairly floss on my fingers for you?"
He said with a small smile. He had gotten lost in the memory and then shook himself out of it erdaicating the smile. He looked over at her momentarily. He looked around at his surroundings. So she was sharing with three other people as well. There was no one in here yet though, just Madison. All the dorms were starting to fill up pretty fast as of recently. It was strange. He looked at her small amount of belongings, it looked like his. That was what happened when you needed to be able to just get up and move. All of his things fit into one bag and one small box that had been with him constantly. He let out a deep breath and then moved over and sat next to her on the small sofa. He needed to get one of these things for him Blake. Their room was pretty sparse and small, not to mention the fact neither of them really had anything to make it too homey. Oh well he could work on that as the next few years went through. Sticks & stones may break my bones, but chains and whips excite me
Madison couldn't believe that Marcus would bring up the clown again, she was so embarressed at that and her fear, but luckily she was good at faking things. Truth was she was terrified of clowns, ever since she was 4 years old and her babysitter forced her to watch the movie 'IT' and then proceeded to take her to haunted house where the end was nothing but creepy clowns, in 3D. She remembered having her eyes closed nearly the whole time til she got to the end when a clown on stilts holding balloons began to chase her, trying to give her a balloon. She ran out of the haunted house crying and never looked back. Since then she has wanted nothing to do with clowns, nor will she ever.
Madison buried her head in shame, and began to nervously laugh, "Ohmigosh, I can't believe you brought that up again, that was so horrible! But I do have to admit, your little sticky finger trick was quite impressive. You had your little bad boy moments." It was times like she missed, just the relaxing and remininiscing. She didn't have to go all psycho crazy all the time, just when she got upset.
When he sat down next to her, she wanted to slide closer to him, but knew that if she wanted to gain his trust, she didn't want to advance to quickly. Rather he brought her knees up to her chest, and slide all the way to edge, turning her body to just be facing him, giving him enough room to relax. "I really am sorry for everything Marcus. I hope that you can give me a second chance. You really are only one of the few people that get me, and I'd hate for you not to be a part of my life. Even if it is only as a friend." Madison smiled one of her genuine smiles at Marcus, most of it was the truth, just not all of the truth.
"So, tell me all about this new girl, is she is hot as I am?"

'' take your past and burn it up and let '' it go , c a r r y on i'm s t r o n g e r than you'll ever know Marcus wanted to see her reaction when he brought something up about their past. This was how he would know what she was up to and if what she was saying was true or not. Of course even then there was the big chance that he just wouldn't believe her after everything that they had gone through with the break up. Seriously people say clingy girl is bad then everyone should try the clingy crazy stalker ex. It's even worse. Yet here she was looking as sexy as ever and trying to say that they could just be friends and that was all she wanted. Was is it really coincidence that she happened to get the room next to his and Blake's? Probably not, no doubt she had pulled some strings like she always used to when she wanted to get her own way.
He had to chuckle slightly at the way she hung her head in shame at bringing up probably one of their funniest memories but also for her probably one of the worst considering how it went. It was still a good time especially seeing as she got to eat the candy floss from off his fingers. "Yes well I did have to learn from the best did I not? As If I wouldn't bring that up I did tell you when it happened that you'll never live it down when i'm around. Hey don't diss the candy floss it was strawberry flavour and delicious"
He said with a small smile. This was when he could trust Madison, he just had no idea how long it would end up lasting. She could be the perfect friend and the nicest person and then suddenly in a flash it would change. She didn't try to make a move on him and for that he appreciated. Instead she tucked her legs to her chest and turned so that she was facing him. His arm rested on the back of the chair as was his usual comfortable position and he crossed his ankles as he sat back slowly relaxing with her company. Something he hadn't considered possible again. He pushed his hands through his hair to ensure it didn't go into his face, something that he always did becuase most of the time his hair just flopped right into his eyes and he was practically blind behind it. Madison spoke once more and he looked over at her. His smile had gone but his eyes were gentle as he listened. Most people wouldn't recognize this but he knew that she would seeing as how well she knew him. An apology from Madison was liking winning gold at the olympics. It just never happened. So he was going to take what he could get, especially with something like this. He smiled and nodded his head slightly in one brisk nod. "Ok but only one the condition you come here and do your school work and try hard and getting things done. I know you, if you get obsessed with someone then you don't concentrate and everything just falls apart" He was thinking that she would get all stalkerish on him again which truthfully wouldn't exactly be the first time. Not to mention it was more than likley to happen. He wanted to be friends with her but he also wanted to know that she really had changed and wasn't just saying all of this. For once he actually couldn't read her, he'd been away from her for too long. He lifted his long and placed his ankle on his knee and was totally relaxed. Pushing his brown hair back once more he tucked behind his ears as well so it would stay back this time. He looked over at Madison and how hard she was trying to be nice and was actually pleased and proud of her. She asked about Blake and he smiled slightly. "Hot wouldn't be the correct word to describe Blake. I'd say adorable would cut it. I've known forever and now i'm back here it seems like nothing changed just intensified. She is the sweetest person and tries so hard." A slightly dopey look came accross his face when he spoke about her, he couldn't help it she meant the world to him at the moment. Now he was back he wasn't planning on letting her go. Then he shook himself out of it and turned back to look at Madison. Sticks & stones may break my bones, but chains and whips excite me
”I’m not dissin on the floss! It was really good, and it tasted even better on your fingers.” Madison smiled at Marcus, she was doing her best to try and keep her cool and lust for him under control, but it was so hard. When he ran his hand through his hair, she bit her lip gently and unnoticed, she wished that it was her hand, coughing slightly, she woke herself back up and drew her attention back to Marcus and listened to him, giving him her undivided attention. She nodded in agreement when he told her the terms of condition about going to school and classes. She really did want the education, she wasn’t going to screw up her career goals, but she also wasn’t going to back down from her alterative motive. Madison felt like she wanted to gag as Marcus began rambling on and on about how cute Blake was and how adorable she was. It took every ounce not to eye roll or puke her guts out. She was unfortunately going to have to listen and pretend to like her in order to get in. Eventually she would hear some sort of hint on how to get in between them, there had to be some sore spot, she just had to wait for opportune moment to ask without it looking obvious. Today was not that day. Smiling Madison looked up at Marcus as he pushed his hair behind his ears. “That sounds wonderful Marcus, she sounds like a doll. Here. Let me..” Madison reached over and pulled Marcus’ hair from behind his ears, letting it fall just to the side, but not in his eyes. ”There. I don’t know why you’d want to pull it back. I always liked it loose and messy like. “ Sitting back in her own space she wrapped her arms around her knees and placed her chin on top of her knees. ”Im glad that your happy Marcus, you deserve it.”
What she really want to say was, ’You make think your happy with her, but I know you’d be happier with me.’ but managed to keep her mouth shut. Instead she just half smiled, not looking up at him, but rather off to the side, staring at the wall.

'' take your past and burn it up and let '' it go , c a r r y on i'm s t r o n g e r than you'll ever know When Madison lauhed something inside of him completely relaxed to it's farmilliarty. There was abviously a chance for friendship here as long as she didn't try to ruin everything that was. It was highly likely for her to go off and ruin what ever chances they had by saying something she shouldn't to Blake. Marcus knew that if he ever found out that she had said something behind his back he would go ape shit at her and she wouldn't get the chance to even apologize before he found a way to kick her out of here. She had no right to even approach Blake before things started to get messy. Marcus didn't think about it though, instead he focused on trying to get this friendship to work, after all it was what the both of them had wanted for a time before she had gone all crazy and stalkerish.
He laughed along with her and nodded. Of course it tasted good it had the taste of his fingers along with it. "Yes well getting sticky fingers for the next hour or so afterwards and leaving sticky fingerprints everywhere was the bit that wasn't quite so fun. I agree though my fingers tasted fabulous for the longest of times afterwards"
He chuckled slightly and shook his head at the memory. Every fair ground ride they had gone onto after that incident he left little sticky marks all over the place and it had driven him absolutly crazy. Even still that had been one of the best nights with Madison, of course they also ended up having sex for most of the night until the early morning but that was besides the point and not something he should probably bring up around her anytime soon. He smiled when she complimented Blake but even he could tell it was only half assed. What did he expect for them to be friends. Actually if that did happent hen things were seriously about to go horribly wrong and he didn't want that. Instead she changed the subject almost immediatly and pulled his hair forward again. He almost blushed, literally. She had always like his long hair forward and he never had the courage to cut it all off only trim the ends off when they started to look terrible. He smiled and nodded. "Your lucky I almost cut it all off when I came here but I don't know why I just couldn't do it. It took me too long to get it to this point I think that I couldn't bear to part with it" Giving a slight shrug of his shoulder as he spoke. Madison leant back almost straight after she had touched him almost as if she thought she had crossed the line but he didn't bring her up on it. They had been friends for a long time before they had gotten together and he wished that they could just go back in time, Well actually if he went far back enough he never would have left without grabbing Blake and dragging her along as well. He tried not to dwell on it and instead looked tot he future, he might just get his friendship back with Madison and he and Blake were coming along so well. "Thanks. I'm really glad you've changed back into the girl I met. I have to admit, the other girl was kind of scary." He gave a slight chuckle at his words trying to make a small joke out of the situation. Sticks & stones may break my bones, but chains and whips excite me
Madison gave Marcus a shocked face when he remarked about almost cutting his hair. For a moment she tried to imagine him with a buzz cut or even a shaved head, but just couldn’t picture it. She was a fan of the long hair, it was just him. ”Oh my, to cut it off would be, no, I don’t think anyone would recognize you.” Madison quickly shut her mouth after her last comment. She would hope that she would still be able to recognize him if he did cut his hair, but she wasn’t quite sure, it would be more difficult that was for sure. She didn’t want him to think about that, it could give him an idea on how to escape her, she didn’t want to lose him, again.
’I’m glad you changed back into the girl I met.’ Madison smiled at that thought, it brought back all the original feelings and memories, something she never forgot. It was like the first time they met, perhaps this was the start of her second chance. She didn’t want to be crazy, it wasn’t her first choice; she just didn’t know how to be sane all the time. It might have something to do with her past, but she didn’t want to start blaming other people, she was who she was, and that was just how it was going to be. For the time being, the only thing, or only person for that matter that kept her feeling sane, was Marcus. When she was with him she was happy, it was like no problems could overtake her, but when he wasn’t there, she didn’t know what to do. She realized this after he left her, she just had to get him back.
”You don’t have to worry Marcus, that girl is gone, I’m just back to being me.” She let a big grin come across her face, if she had to play nice and the good accepting friend, she would. It would just be a little movie role, eventually the time would come when he’d need a shoulder to cry on, and who’s better than her own.
