HISTORY:

As mentioned above, Annabel Lee Hayden is a lady plucked from the pages of a fairy tale. Named for the famous Edgar Allan Poe poem, she was born to loving and in love parents, Dr. Atticus Hayden, a Harvard University professor, and his wife, Rebecca. She grew up happily in their little cottage-like home just outside of Boston. Annabel took joy in ballet lessons taught by her mother, a former prima ballerina, and learned billions upon billions of facts through books prescribed by her father.

Tragedy shook the young girl's life when she turned thirteen. Her beloved mother lost a short battle with breast cancer. Both Annabel and her father, Atticus, were devastated. So devastated that Atticus left his job at Harvard and the two moved to Alpine Falls to escape the sad memories of Rebecca's final days. Here, Annabel continued her studies, in hopes of becoming a professor like her father once was, danced to remember her mother, and took care of her aging, widower father.

Annabel's world was once again rocked at age sixteen, when her father married Cordelia Middleton, and brought her daughter, Nathalie Middleton, into their once happy family. Unlike Annabel, her step family was outgoing, rather pushy and oftentimes rude. She was unable to bond with Cordelia and Nathalie due to the extreme differences in their personalities and, thus, is treated rather unfairly by the pair since she was so easily pushed over.

Now, Annabel spends her time in study and attempting to avoid Nathalie, who unfortunately chose to attend the same school.
