The more of this place that Madi saw, the more she liked. It was so different, than Florida.. or maybe it was just college being so different than high school, the main thing obviously being that she was married now. Yes, married. It still felt crazy, even to her, but her parents had done the same thing and they'd stayed happy up until her father's passing just over a year ago. Why couldn't she and Olli make it work? Well, there was their less than spectacular dating track record, which was pretty much all her fault. She couldn't help but feel like she'd screw it up again and this time the fallout would be much bigger.
In any case, Madison was doing her best to adjust to life in a new town, registering for classes, buying books and that sort of thing. It was strangely exhausting (not to mention how expensive books were...) and after 5 hours on campus that day, she was feeling beat... and hungry, very hungry, Juggling her books in her arms, she reached into her purse and took out the map that she'd been given, trying to find the Canteen. It didn't take long and within seconds, she was heading through a crowd of students, trying to plan what to get.
She was used to crappy cafeteria food, coming from a boarding school where most kids just went off-campus or made their own food, so she prepared herself for disaster. But she was starving and in all honesty would have eaten some of the weird British food Oliver was always getting her to try with much protest. Crappy cafeteria food would work just fine.
Walking in the door, she saw that it was rather quiet in there and wondered if it was classes or something else that kept the kids out. Classes, she decided heading over and gazing up at the menu. They had the usual burgers and fries and salads and such, but nothing seemed too appealing. She kept walking catching sight of some muffins that looked decent and grabbed a chocolate chip one. Madison had always had a sweet tooth.
She paid, getting a coffee also, then headed to a table close by, dropping her books on the seat across from hers and feeling instant relief in her arms. So much better. she thought before sitting and taking a long drink of coffee before pulling out her phone to see if Oliver or someone else had called... Nope.
Setting the phone down on the table, she wondered what to do. She hated just sitting. It felt so awkward. Catching sight of her books, she grabbed the first from the stack and read the title. It was for some business class that had been mandatory and she was already dreading it. It wasn't like she planned on being in business.. Not that she did know what she wanted to do either. For all she knew, business was her forte. It was just bound to be boring as hell.
