[tried an template but kept messing up, so I got lazy, lol]
Madison was still amazed she’d done it, left Jacksonville after spending a lifetime there. It was somewhere she’d once wanted to be forever, but now all that was there was a pile of drama she’d much rather have forgotten about. Plus, she was now a wife and that was even more excuse for a fresh start; one for them both. Knowing many of her peers would have stayed local for college, she’d applied to a college much further away, so far she hadn’t even heard of it though she was pleasantly surprised when they’d finally toured it and were both accepted. What with getting married and the move things got a bit crazy after that, but it was all worth it because now they were there. In their home. Really, their first home if you didn’t count the dorm they’d shared in high school.
Looking around, Madison couldn’t help but feel pleased with the place they’d chosen. It was close to the school and modern, yet had old-world charm and bones. Currently, there were boxes everywhere and more piling in with Oliver by the second. Honestly, it was overwhelming, but also exciting. They were free. There was just them, come hell or high wate and they’d have to learn to figure it all out.
Walking over to one of the boxes that read “kitchen,” she opened it up and started going through it. Was it bad that she didn’t know half of the stuff was used for? Most of it had been bought only recently and still had tags. She supposed she’d learn like any freshman, living away from home for the first time. Well living in a place that wasn’t a dorm. Deciding that unpacking it there was semi-useless, she put the stuff away again and headed into the kitchen with the box before setting it down on the counter.
She took out a glass and unwrapped it from it’s paper before opening the cupboard above the sink and going to put it away. Next thing she knew, the glass missed. ”Shit!” Madi cursed loudly as it shattered into pieces all over the floor. She bent down to pick it up, wondering where they put the broom. Maybe Oliver knew. ”Olli, did you see the broom? she called, unsure of how loud to be since he could have been outside or simply in the next room.
