When Codie started to apologize, Ryan smiled at her and brushed it off. "Hey, I'm the one who suggested the trip. It's only fair that I also pay for it as well." He pulled his wallet out of his hoodie that he had picked up with his keys before they left and pulled out the right amount plus a tip. He handed it to the waitress and smiled at her as she walked off and then back to Codie. "You ready to head back to campus?" he asked. Now that she was feeling a little better about things, she nodded when Ryan asked if she was ready. Standing up, she pulled her shorts down to a comfortable position, before heading outside of the restaurant ready for the walk home. Looking over at Ryan she smiled and linked her arm around his again, ”Thanks for the fries and shake. It was a wonderful trip down memory lane.” As they walked back toward campus, Codie was feeling the guilt of not telling the truth, but she just didn’t know how to admit it. Rather than heading back to the dorm room, she pulled Ryan toward the lake, where she knew there were nice spots to relax. Heading over to a bench she stopped and looked at Ryan before sitting down. It was now or never, she just needed to open up. Taking in a deep breath, she exhaled as she began to spill everything. ”My parents have no idea I’m here. I ran away after high school. I was accepted into Julliard’s summer program, but I choked, got injured, and had to leave. When I went back home, my parents had set everything up and were forcing me to go to med school, but I don’t want to do that, so I had to leave and I figured that I’d be safe here with no one from my past, and then you showed up and I was afraid that my parents sent you. Its just so hard leaving everything behind, all my friends, you. I never even got to say goodbye or tell certain people things.” Feeling a huge weight come off her chest, Codie felt like she could breath again. She knew she could trust Ryan and that he wouldn’t say anything to her parents, it just made her worried. She didn’t want lose anyone or anything else. She had lost so much already. He couldn't blame her for wanting to do her own thing and follow her dream, he would have done the same thing. He frowned slightly when she though her parents had sent him and he shook his head, rubbing her back in comfort. "I'm so sorry that you had to go through all of that," he said sincerely. "You should have been able to follow your dream. And I hate that you weren't supported by your family. And I would never betray a friend like that, just so you know. Even if your parents asked something like that of me, I would refuse. You don't deserve that kind of treatment, Codes. Ever." He hugged her tight and resisted the urge to kiss the top of her head. "You don't ever have to hide anything from me, Codie," he said softly. "You can always count on me for anything. That will never change." His eyes opened and she looked at him in shock. His own reaction mirrored hers, but then softened and smiled at her when she started to stutter an apology. He shook his head and put a hand gently on her cheek. "It's okay," he said softly before leaning in and capturing his lips to hers once more. When he leaned back in and this time kissed her, she returned the kiss back and could feel tears of both relief and joy start to fall down her cheek. Pulling back from Ryan just slightly, she kept her face close enough to his to keep things intimate, and bit her lip gently. Whispering in a hush toned, she smiled, ”Thank you for everything Ryan. You mean the world to me Ryan, you always have, I just couldn’t admit it.” Not only had she admitted the truth about her family to Ryan tonight, she was finally admitting to him what she felt. When she said that it was the best night ever, his smile broadened more than he thought was possible. "I couldn't agree more," he whispered back and kissed her once more, only quickly. "I am so happy to have you back in my life, Codes. I thought I had lost you forever. And now...I can't think of a better way to spend my time than with you." (will update template code later) Codie was in heaven as she sat on the bench with Ryan when he joked around about the awkwardness of asking about being his girlfriend. She couldn’t help but smile and giggle a little, but had to agree that they’d be able to skip it. She nodded quickly in agreement that they could skip that conversation and moved closer to Ryan. She smiled as she listened to him whisper and couldn’t help but feel her stomach tighten with excitement and nerves. She felt Ryan lean in once again, this time pulling her closer. She felt like she should back again, but she didn’t want to. She knew that she wanted to be there at that moment with him, and she even knew now that he wanted to be with her just as much. She decided to live in the moment, she didn’t want to waste anymore time. Pulling back just a little, Codie whispered back to Ryan, ”Don’t worry Ryan. I’m not going anywhere, I don’t want to lose you again.” Reaching out, Codie put her hands into Ryan’s and squeezed gently, she didn’t ever want to let go.

Ryan looked at Codie when she said she wasn't going anywhere, and took his hand. He squeezed it in return and broke into a huge smile. He couldn't remember being happier than he was at the moment in the past few months. It felt like high school all over again, only this time his dream of having Codie on his arm had finally came true. He never thought this would have happened, and now, here they were.

"Come on," he said, and pulled her to her feet. He let go of her hand, but in return wrapped it around her waist and kept her close as they made it through the park and back to campus. Some students that he knew passed them and he waved, ignoring the curious looks that he was getting. he didn't care. He was content with life. He had Codie.

Codie smiled as she let Ryan pull her up to her feet. She felt as if she was dreaming everything was happen and felt her knees weaken. She was thankful when she felt Ryan let go of her hand and she felt it go around her waist. She leaned again Ryan as they walked back through the park to campus. She didn’t even notice that Ryan was waving a few people, or the see the looks they were getting. She was grinning from ear to ear and off in her own little happy world.

When they got inside their building she felt the warmth of the dorms hit her. She hated how they always kept everything too hot inside. Even in the dead of winter she had to keep a window open and a fan going just to keep things comfortable. She felt her face flush a little so she pulled Ryans sweatshirt off over her head when she realized her shorts were still pulled down. Quickly pulling them up she giggled a little but didn’t let it embarrass her. She was comfortable around Ryan, she knew she had to no reason to be embarrassed, she trusted him. Letting the sweatshirt drape over her arm she faced Ryan as they stopped in front of her door. She was so happy that things were working out for the best, and she didn’t want to be separated from Ryan but she didn’t want to rush things, she knew they’d have plenty of time together. She handed Ryan his sweatshirt back, ”Thank you for everything Ryan.” she said with a smile as she reached in her non-existent pockets for her keys. Feeling her shorts she smacked her forehead and laughed. ”I think I left my keys in your room.”

Ryan continued to grin like an idiot as they made it back to their dorm. He unlocked his door and turned to say goodnight to Codie when she took off his sweatshirt and handed it back to him. He didn't turn into that awkward teenager when she pulled her shorts back up, just chuckled at her and shook his head slightly.

When she said she left her keys in his room, he opened his door a little wider. "You know...you don't have to rush off," he said, and did turn shy. "I mean...if you...don't feel comfortable, I understand. I'd never put you in a position like that or force you to do anything." When he listened to his wording, he turned bright red. "I mean...that's not what I meant!" he added quickly. "I just meant...if...you wanted to stay...I wouldn't mind."

Codie watched as Ryan’s face began to turn all different shades of red. She couldn’t help but chuckle at his shy school boy face, but found it really cute. She of course knew what he meant, but decided that it would be fun to tease him a little. Opening her mouth up wide in a jaw dropping motion, she exclaimed, ”Ryan Hadley, how dare you! What do you think I am? A floosy? Geeesh!” Quickly turning her back to Ryan, she began to chuckle and smile, making it appear that she was crying. She stormed over to where she left her keys on the floor and picked them up. Holding them in her hand, she walked back over to Ryan and looked him in the face with a serious look. She just couldn’t do it. She smiled at him for a second before quickly kissing him. When she pulled back, she set her keys on the table by the door, and took his hands, pulling him into his room and kicking the door shut behind them.

”So Mr. Hadley, you got your cheerleader all alone now. What are you going to do?” Smiling at Ryan she stuck her tongue out a little. She loved making him feel all shy like, she was going to break him in sooner or later.

At first, Ryan thought he had really hurt and offended Codie. He tried to open his mouth to apologize, when she turned around and pulled him into the room, and kicked the door shot. When she said that he had his cheerleader alone, he grinned shyly and pulled her close. He was still red in the face, but he could get used to Codie being around all the time. "Well, I would never want to make her uncomfortable, so I'm curious as to what she wants to do," he said, before kissing her quickly.
